Wychmere Ocean Room Wedding | Ashlee & Steven

Ashlee and Steven’s Wychmere Ocean Room wedding was not only stunning but so much fun! This Cape Cod venue is one of my favorites, but Ashlee took it to the next level with her meticulous attention to detail and decor. I am so excited to share their special day with you!

Their Love Story

Ashlee and Steven have known each other for years but reconnected when they both moved to East Boston around the same time. Over the next year, their friendship turned it more. Ashlee told me, “We are very similar individuals which helps our relationship continue to grow more and more as the years progress and truly cements our love for one another."

Their families have grown close over the years, which was clearly evident on their wedding day. Check out their gorgeous sand dune engagement photos!

The girls got ready in the bridal suite on-site at Wychmere Hotel, while the boys got ready at the nearby Wychmere Cottage. With Ashlee being one of five sisters, the bridal suite was fun and lively! After a first look with her bridesmaids and father, we headed to the hydrangea lawn for Ashlee’s first look with Steven. It was emotional and full of excitement! They borrowed a vintage car from a family friend for photos which was a huge hit for portraits that added a classy touch.

Wedding Ceremony at The Dune Rooftop Terrace

Ashlee and Steven had their ceremony on the rooftop terrace at Dune. This venue is also a part of the Wychmere Beach Club and has incredible ocean views! Once they had officially tied the knot as husband and wife, we headed to the Ocean Room for their cocktail hour and reception.

I was blown away by the decor and attention to detail. Guests were welcomed with a shot wall (crafted by Aslee’s dad) that also served as escort cards customized with each guest's name. Since all of their formal portraits were completed before the ceremony, Ashlee and Steven enjoyed their cocktail hour with their family and friends.

The reception decor was stunning! The all-white reception space in the Wychmere Ocean Room was complete with neon signs, a flower wall, and beautiful place settings. We captured some golden hour photos on the beach, which turned out to be some of my favorites from the day.

Ashlee's father nailed his welcome speech and had the entire room laughing their asses off, and then crying. The maid of honor and best man’s speeches were equally touching, and the presence of Steven’s late father was deeply missed by everyone. Ordinarily, couples share their first dance during introductions, but Ashlee and Steven switched it up. They shared their first dance as husband and wife after dinner with all of their guests surrounding them in a circle. Immediately after their dance, DJ Matt Toto had everyone on the dance floor immediately! I absolutely loved capturing Ashlee and Steven’s wedding day and wish them a lifetime of happiness!
