Cassidy and David couldn’t have picked a better spot than The White Cliffs Country Club in Plymouth, MA, for their wedding. With its stunning coastal views, the club was the perfect place to celebrate with family and friends. They loved the outdoor ceremony space on the cliff's edge and the large tent for the reception. It was everything they wanted for a laid-back, coastal celebration, and I couldn’t have been more excited to capture their day! Fun fact - I actually photographed Cassidy’s sister’s wedding so I was thrilled to be invited back!
One thing I really like about the White Cliffs Country Club is that they only host one wedding per day. You have the venue to yourselves and a wonderful staff available to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Their Love Story
Cassidy and David have known each other since kindergarten, essentially growing up together. After years of David teasing Cassidy on the bus and in their shared classes, it wasn’t until 7th grade that Cassidy realized she actually liked David, and they became friends. They started dating in 8th grade, and their relationship grew more serious during their sophomore year of high school. They have been together ever since!
When David was ready to propose, Cassidy’s sisters planned a “sisters day” on the Cape, spending the afternoon at a winery. They decided to watch the sunset in Falmouth at The Knob, a place Cassidy and David had visited many times. As they walked toward the scenic viewpoint, Cassidy’s sisters began acting differently, with their phones out and having Cassidy walk in front of them. When they reached the end of The Knob, David was there, tears in his eyes, ready to propose. After Cassidy said “YES,” they met their families at a nearby restaurant for a surprise party!
Outdoor Ceremony at The White Cliffs Country Club
The club does not have accommodations on the property so we got ready at a nearby hotel in downtown Plymouth. After we arrived at the club, we did a first look with Cassidy’s dad. Her dad was feeling a lot of pressure because he had a big reaction during the daddy-daughter first look with Cassidy’s sister Courtney. However, he had nothing to worry about! The moment was so emotional for the two of them!
We then headed out to the gazebo for their ceremony. Cassidy and David wanted to see each other for the first time as Cassidy walked down the aisle. I am so glad they did because the moment was worth the wait! David couldn't stop crying during their ceremony; he was so overwhelmed with love.
Cape Cod Wedding Photographer
After the ceremony, we did all of their portraits with the wedding party out on the golf course. Their guests were greeted with a champagne wall with a custom neon sign! The tent was decorated beautifully with light pink and white florals. Cassidy is an elementary school teacher so for her centerpieces, she had notes from her students where they filled in "love is...." which was a sweet personal touch!
Couple’s Sunset Portraits on The Beach
As the name suggests, the venue sits on top of a 175-foot cliff! While it is beautiful, it is also one hell of a hike to get down to the bottom and back up! Cassidy and David were really excited about sunset photos down on the water. Luckily, there was still someone around to operate the elevator so we didn't have to walk down all the steps and got down to the beach easily. Since it was such a trek we opted to just do their couple's photos there and not bring the whole wedding party down. These portraits ended up being some of my favorites of the day!
White Cliffs Country Club Wedding Reception
After doing toasts and dinner under the tent, guests moved into the ballroom for the dance party. At Courtney's wedding, her dad had to leave unexpectedly for an emergency and didn’t get to do the father-daughter dance. Halfway through Cassidy and her dad's dance, she invited Courtney up to finish the song while Cassidy then danced with her stepfather. It was so selfless and sweet to allow Courtney to have this moment, and it made everyone (including me) sob!
Everyone spent the night on the dance floor wearing personalized sunglasses with their initials and wedding date which was a super cute wedding trend in 2023!
