Laura and Jon's wedding at The Red Barn at Outlook Farm was SO. MUCH. FUN! From start to finish this couple did not stop smiling from ear to ear and the day was filled with so much happiness. Laura and Jon ended up hiring me just two months before their wedding day as their original photographer had to cancel due to unforeseen pregnancy complications - I cannot imagine how stressful that must have been! But I am so fortunate to have been their replacement photographer!
L+J met five years before their wedding. They went on just one date, but Laura had to leave for a travel nursing job in Colorado so they didn’t continue dating. However, the universe seemed to bring them back together because after a few years not only did Laura break her shoulder during a ski accident but then the pandemic hit, so she moved back home. She went back on a dating site and Jon sent her a message again! They quickly fell in love and started dating and knew it was meant to be. I feel like it's always so much easier to start dating someone who's been on your radar before because they don't feel quite so unknown.
Southern Maine Coastal Wedding
Laura and her bridesmaids got ready at a beautiful Airbnb in York, ME. It was so bright and airy that I could not get enough getting-ready photos because of that great light! If you're hoping for wedding photos like this that are bright, crisp, and clean, I highly recommend choosing a place that has enough space and enough light like this! Laura selected a color palette with soft pink, green, and whites that was perfect for a late summer wedding. All of her details from the invitations to the florals, to the Bella Belle shoes tied together perfectly. She looked stunning!
I loved that Laura had her sisters and Maids of Honor wear a floral printed dress that was different from the bridesmaids! Before her first look with Jon, Laura did a first look with her dad on the porch of the Airbnb. It was such a special and beautiful moment as her mom looked on, and a deer even sauntered by in the front yard at the same time making the moment extra special!
Wedding Portraits at Hartley Mason Reserve
Once everyone was ready, we headed over to Hartley Mason Reserve. This beautiful park is right on the coast of York overlooking York Beach and was the perfect spot for Laura and Jon's first look and portraits. They were both beaming when they saw each other! I love that they exchanged vows privately and had a few minutes to just take in the day before officially becoming husband and wife.
It was raining on and off all day, but they said screw it and wanted photos on the beach anyway! Even in heels, Laura requested to get some adventurey photos on the rocks. We love a bride that can do both 😎. The wedding party joined us at the park afterwards and spent time taking portraits around the park.
The Red Barn at Outlook Farm Wedding
The Red Barn at Outlook Farm in South Berwick, Maine is a quintessential New England venue. With views overlooking the golf course, a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, and a barn for the reception, you cannot go wrong.
Laura and Jon had a rockstar wedding coordinator/planning team, Finishing Touch Events, that made everything run seamlessly. Even though it was raining a bit, they really vouched for them to have their ceremony outdoors. I'm so glad they did because it was absolutely beautiful in front of the large sugar maple tree.

A New England Barn Wedding Venue
After the ceremony, Laura and Jon surprised their wedding party with an epic game of flip-cup! This was a first for me, but it was a huge hit and made for some super fun photos when the girls team beat the guys!
The barn was decorated beautifully complete with two custom neon signs and gorgeous floral arrangements on the fireplace mantel. Their reception included a choreographed first dance, emotional speeches, dancing, and shot skis! By the end of the night, Laura was even crowd surfing to the music from the live band. This couple was an absolute blast and I am so honored to have captured their day!
