North End Boston Engagement Session
North Square Park Boston
North Square Park is such an iconic North End Boston photo spot and I am so excited with how these photos turned out! I can't believe what luck we had where not many people where walking through the square. This is usually bustling so I'm shooooook and elated! While these were in the evening, this space is probably best in the morning when it's not as busy. Behind where I was taking these photos is an outdoor patio for the restaurants in the area; Ciao Roma and Mama Maria, so it wasn't totally empty, but I'll take not having to photoshop people out of photos for 500, Alex (err - Ken).
How they met:
Ali and Christian initially met on Hinge (Ali made the first move by sending a message), and found out they had a strong mutual friend connection. That friend became a major wingman by inviting both of them out for a night with friends in South Boston for them to meet!! The next went they went on their first date; axe throwing followed by dinner at Cafe Florentine in the North End (where we took photos that you'll see at the end of this blog!).
Their proposal story:
Ali spent the majority of her summers growing up with family and friends at First Encounter Beach in Eastham, MA. On the morning of their engagement, they went on a run in Harwichport, and then got coffees afterwards. Christian suggested taking their coffees to First Encounter Beach, where the tide was really low. They walked far out, and then he got down on one knee! He had a cooler of champagne, cheese and crackers, and other snacks hidden in the trunk of his car. They had a beach picnic just the two of them, and then Christian's family joined Ali's family for a party the next day. Talk about a perfect day!
Boston Public Alley Engagement Session
From North Square Park we popped over to Public Alley to get some cutie photos with the brick and flower pots before continuing on to Christopher Columbus Park, of course! It isn't a true North End Boston engagement session without some trellis photos.

Christopher Columbus Park Boston Engagement Session
The foliage on the trellis was PERFECT this summer and provided such a pretty backdrop for photos. We had such luck for crowds without anyone walking through the park as well, which is so rare! I love that A+C brought some champagne to pop and enjoy midway through our session.
What they're most excited for for their wedding:

They're also excited to dance and to see all of the planning details come together (I second that!).
Of course have to take some photos with the waterfront and boats when in CC Park!

Florentine Cafe
From there we walked back towards North Square to hit Florentine Cafe; where Ali and Christian had their first dates! The basement of the restaurant is A VIBE! I love this moody lighting and eclectic decor to provide some super unique images and memories for these two. Super grateful I was invited to capture these moments for them and I cannoooot wait for their wedding in May!
