Looking for an elopement location hike with mountain views that is on the easier side, and that is also a little "closer" to Boston (ie: not in the White Mountains)? Consider Mt. Major! This is an amazing hike for both newbies or pros. The hike to the summit is only about an hour and has a fairly steady incline until you get to some scrambling at the end. If you take your time and expect to have a leeeeettle difficulty at some parts, this isn't an intimidating hike for newbies!
Location: Belknap Mountain Range in Alton, NH
Distance & Difficulty: 1.5 miles, moderate
Trail: Very well marked Mt. Major Trail , follow the blue blazes
The summit is large enough to grab your own slice of land for privacy with amazing views of Lake Winnipesaukee. It's awesome that the summit is so big so that way you can choose an amazing view for photos without feeling like you're monopolizing an area. However, if you are using a fairly popular viewpoint, be conscious of other hikers as this is a heavily trafficked trail.
