Shakeara found me on facebook and I'm SO GLAD because these two absolutely tore it up for their engagement session!!
She had a very specific idea for what she wanted for her engagement session which is always so cool to try to fulfill their vision but add in my own creativity. She had send me photos from an engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial so I got right to work location scouting around the Austin area. There are the locations I provided:
First Methodist Church of Austin
Hotel Ella (photography fee)
The Long Center
University of Texas Tower
Austin Capitol Building
Barr Mansion (photography fee)
Texas Governor's Mansion (currently closed. Unsure of reopening but I left a voicemail)
Blanton Museum of Art (photography fee if inside)
French Legation Museum (photography fee)
Neill-Cochran House ($100/hour)
They chose the First United Methodist Church next to the Capitol Building. We planned to also do photos at the capitol but because of protests/riots for Black Lives Matter, it was shut down and guarded. Which is totally fine because the little sidewalk to the next of the church offered enough variety!
With every couple I work with, I like to send them a questionnaire to learn more about them and their love story. Here are some of their answers:
Can you describe that moment you first knew you loved your partner?
Shakeara: For me I would say, just being best friend with Ro'myrus first. I knew exactly what type of guy he was, so after our trip to Dubai, I was able to see him from a different perspective. I knew then that I wanted to take it to the next level.
Ro'Myrus: When I was asked to go on a trip out of the country with my best friend from my military unit. We had an amazing time in Dubai and had gotten to know so much about each other; I knew then that I had found the woman I was going to spend the rest of my life with and today proves that.
If you had to pick just one thing that you love the most about your partner, what would it be?
Shakeara: I love the way Ro'Myrus treats me. Ro'Myrus is a very forgiving person. Whenever there's a problem, he will talk things out.
Ro'Myrus: The most amazing thing about Shakeara is the way she loves unconditionally. She will always be there no matter how bad things may go and for that I am grateful.
They're getting married in Mississippi in 2021 and I know it will be such a beautiful celebration!
