Alexa and Dante are from Worcester, fell in love in Worcester, and got engaged in Worcester, so what's better than having downtown Worcester as the backdrop for their engagement photos?
Initially they were unsure on if they wanted the city vibe or not. Alexa said "I have been TORN about this session for a while now. I love the idea of doing a city-style shoot but I am a beach girl through and through! But we have our whole life to do a beach session, whereas a city-style shoot might not be something we would do as we get older."
I agreed completely that the beach will always be there for family photos and such down the road while right now it'd be so fun to do a chic city vibe bopping around!
Once we decided on staying in Worcester, Alexa said her vision was "some alley shots, rooftop shots, crosswalks, pizza on the sidewalk, and bar/cafe could be cute ideas. Volturno is one of our favorite spots, so we would definitely want to get pizza from there. Basically the vibes I am going for are fun, flirty, romantic, chic."
Downtown Worcester Engagement Session
WELLLLLL I may be biased but I think we achieved their goals! I had SO much fun frolicking around downtown Worcester with them to capture their out of this world chemistry. Like seriously, these two are made for each other. It was so, so easy to capture their relationship.
We started off on Main street to get some urban busy-city vibes before heading to Worcester City Hall then Union Station and the parking garage rooftop with theeeeee most perfect golden hour sunlight ever to get some more architecture inspired backdrops!!

And then of course we ended up getting Volturno pizza but rather than eating there we went back to City Hall steps since it was a pretty busy night at the shop. I used flash to end our session since the sun was going down. From direct sunlight to golden hour to interior harsh lighting to direct flash, it was so much fun playing with all the lighting scenarios to give them a one of a kind gallery!
I'm OBSESSED with their photos and I seriously cannot wait for the magic we'll create at their wedding in 2025. What do you think? Do you like the downtown city vibe? Who knew Worcester could look so chic?! I usually head to Boston for city vibes but I was so excited to stay local to my home and create some fun photos in Central Massachusetts!!
