Boston Seaport Engagement Session Photo Locations
1. Christopher Columbus Park
Christopher Columbus Park is an awesome spot for photos because the trellis is beautiful all year round; in the summer it's covered in leafy greens and in the winter it's decorated with Christmas decor and twinkle lights.
It's also close to downtown so you get a downtown skyline while also being in a park, and it's right near the water!! All the different kinds of locations rolled into one.
2. Rowes Wharf
How far of a walk from Christopher Columbus?
Rowes Wharf is a large archway over the wide public plaza between Atlantic Ave and the Boston Harbor waterfront. Sometimes there is a large flag hanging like the Irish flag we saw on this particular day, or a large American flag. Other times there is no flag hanging at all.
I thought it made for a really cool photo with the grand scale of the building paired with the vibrant colors of the flag to match Aly's coat. It was a difficult photo to take because of my focal length though, so if you're a photographer reading this- you'll definitely need wider than a 35mm to capture it all unobstructed! I think I was shooting in the hole of a fence/railing.
3. Compass Rose & Long Wharf
4. Evelyn Mokley Bridge to Seaport
5. Fan Pier Park & Harborwalk
When thinking about the seaport for photos, Fan Pier is probably the first place that comes to mind! The skyline on the other side of the Charles is an iconic scene. As the sun sets and the buildings illuminate, it's the perfect romantic scene. I recommend going at sunset and stay through blue hour! Bring an off camera flash to get a variation of photos all in the same location.
Do you want engagement photos in Boston Seaport? Whether or not you like the look of Christopher Columbus Park, Rowes Wharf, Long Wharf, or Fan Pier Park and Harborwalk, we'll make a plan to capture your exact Boston Seaport engagement session vision!
